Birthday in the Big Apple

This year, I celebrated my birthday in one of my favorite places, New York City.

It was a work trip, but I was able to squeeze in a few extra days to check out places I missed the last time I visited two years ago. I was able to catch up with cousins and a childhood friend. Besides all the good eats, my favorite spot this time was Chelsea Market.

Here are some photos of the NYC sites, scenes and, of course, food. Enjoy!

The best flan I ever ad at the Basta Pasta in FlatIron.
Ravioli from Eataly.
Congee Village is known for its congee and it didn't disappoint!
Macraons from Laduree in Soho
George Washington statue at Union Square Park
Citi bikes and bike lanes are everywhere in NYC
Washington Square Arch at Washington Square Park
Bratwurst for dinner with cousins Mindy, Lily and Vikki at Black Forest in Brooklyn
Skateboarding dog, Tillman
My first New York bagel, from Bagels on the Square
Ship sculpture found in a park in East Village
Flat Iron
The fire house where Ghostbusters was filmed
The Ghostbusters illustration on the sidewalk in front of the fire house
Japanese BBQ at Gyu-Kaku
Hanzo
The waffle was so light and crispy with a healthy topping of smoked salmon - The 2nd street salmon special from Wafels & Dinges.
Chelsea Market is the home of Google, Food Network, YouTube and many other small restaurants and shops. It's a fun place to explore!
Love this print hanging on the walls of Chelsea Market.
I saw this painting against a brick building while walking the High Line
Urankian food for my birthday breakfast, at Veselka in East Village
The pasta is put into a cheese wheel and then dished up. This Japanese-inspired Italian food is what I had for my birthday lunch, at Basta Pasta by Flatiron.
The pasta from the cheese wheel. A simple but delicious pasta dish with prosciutto and basil at Basta Pasta.
Grabbed burger and fries with Nicole for my birthday dinner, at Burger Joint in Midtown

My birthday wouldn't be complete without a birthday cake, from Paris Baguette in Korea Town. (Thanks, Nicole!)
